The donation forms part of the bank’s commemoration of its 40th anniversary and a demonstration of its corporate social responsibility and community dedication.
During the commissioning ceremony of the enhanced operating theater, Alhaji Hayatudeen Awudu Ibrahim, the Chief Executive Officer of Bessfa Rural Bank, emphasized that this gesture transcends mere symbolism.
According to him, it stands as a tangible testament to the institution’s unwavering commitment to bolstering local healthcare infrastructure and ensuring widespread access to superior medical services.
“We have invested in excess of GH¢130,000.00 in the refurbishment and equipping of this Medical Center with state-of-the-art theater equipment to aid in the provision of timely and enhanced medical services to our community,” stated Alhaji Ibrahim.
He further underscored the symbiotic relationship between wealth and health, emphasizing the pivotal role of corporate entities in addressing societal challenges.
“This donation not only reinforces Bessfa’s dedication to societal well-being but also underscores its belief that a healthy society is foundational to prosperity.”
Dr. (Med) Emmanuel Jamal Mohammed, the medical lead at the Garu Presbyterian Health Center, expressed profound gratitude for the bank’s initiative.
He highlighted the critical impact of this support in alleviating the daily hurdles encountered, particularly in managing maternal cases.
Dr. Mohammed recounted a tragic incident in 2023 where the lack of a well-equipped operating theater ward resulted in the loss of an infant, emphasizing the urgency and necessity of such interventions.
Cletus Azaabi, the Board Chairman of Bessfa Rural Bank Limited, echoed sentiments of hope and transformation.
