Bessfa Rural Bank Ltd was established in November, 1983. The name "BESSFA" is an abbreviation that stands for "Bawku East Small-Scale Farmers Association".

The Bank's initial capital was contributed by famer groups with support from the Presbyterian Agricultural Station – Garu under the leadership of Mr. John Opata (late).In line with the Bank’s vision, mission and corporate values, our employees are fully committed to providing exceptional service knowing very well that customers have several options within the market space.


BESSFA Rural Bank Supports Six Municipal, District Health Directorate To Fight COVID-19

The Bawku East Small Scale Farmers Association (BESSFA) limited in Garu district of the Upper East Region has presented Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and disinfectants to six Municipal and District Health Directorates within the bank's operational areas.

More than 3,000 individual farmers in  the Bawku Municipality have  received GH¢2.8 million from the BESSFA Rural Bank  as loans, to carry out their businesses including preparation for the new cropping season.
